Monthly Bookkeeping That Runs on a Rhythm You Can Count On

Most owners do not leave their bookkeeper over price. They leave because the reports show up late, or not at all, and the emails start going quiet. If that pattern feels familiar, the thing you were actually missing was reliability.
Monthly bookkeeping gives it back to you. Every month you get, on a fixed date:
- Bank and credit card accounts reconciled
- Payables and receivables kept current
- Your three core statements: Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
Every cycle runs the same way, so nothing drifts. If you need something narrower than the full package, the other bookkeeping services break out individually.
Your books arrive on a set date, not whenever someone gets to it
A common warning sign of an overwhelmed bookkeeper is a Profit and Loss statement that is not ready until the 25th of the following month, or numbers that keep changing after the fact. That is not a rhythm. That is a scramble you are paying for.
We commit to a delivery date and hold it. Your reconciliations, categorization, and statements are finished on schedule, every month, so you are never waiting on last month’s picture to understand this month’s business. Predictable timing is the whole point, and it is the first thing a reliable bookkeeper owes you.
You can make a call any day of the month, not just at year-end
Green Turtle’s founder, Rosty, spent two decades running operating companies, from a $10M agriculture holding company to teams of 400, and holds an MBA in Finance and a CPB (Certified Professional Bookkeeper) designation. His rule was simple: you cannot manage what you cannot count. If someone woke him at 2am with a deal that needed $2,000 down to make $10,000, he needed to know from memory whether the cash was there.
That only works when your books are current in real time, not reconstructed once a year for the CRA. We keep your financials close to live, so the answer to “can I afford this” is a number you already trust, not a call you have to make to your bookkeeper first.
The same person every month, who actually knows your business
One of the loudest complaints in this industry is the rotating bookkeeper: a new name every quarter, each one relearning your file, none of them accountable for the last mistake. Owners describe finally being told to file an extension by a service that had promised they were all caught up.
You get a named person who stays, who learns how your business actually runs, and who replies within one business day. Continuity is not a nicety here. It is what lets small issues get caught early, instead of being rediscovered by whoever inherits your file next.
A steady monthly rhythm means no year-end scramble
We refuse to participate in the emergency. Most bookkeepers are reactive, waiting for the problem to surface, then racing the tax-season deadline to fix a year’s worth of drift at once. That is where quality quietly dies.
By running bank reconciliation and closing your books every single month, the year-end mess never gets a chance to build. Nothing accumulates in a corner. When your accountant needs the file, it is already clean, already reconciled, already ready. You skip the annual panic entirely, because the work was spread evenly across the year instead of crammed into two frantic months. If a year of drift has already built up, catch-up bookkeeping clears it first, and the monthly rhythm starts from books that are genuinely current.
Numbers that read like your actual business, in plain English
Plenty of providers can enter transactions. Far fewer can hand you a report and explain, in plain language, what it is telling you about your company. When we deliver your financials, we add short notes on why a number sits where it does, so you are never staring at a statement you do not understand.
The goal is books that look like your real business, not a technically-correct file that means nothing to you. You built the company. You should be able to read its numbers without a translator, and make decisions from facts instead of gut feel.
Monthly Bookkeeping FAQs
Bank and credit card reconciliation, categorized transactions, up-to-date accounts payable and receivable, and your three core statements: Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. You get them on an agreed date each month, along with short notes explaining anything that moved, so the numbers are ready to act on and ready to hand to your accountant at year-end.
Our minimum package is $500 per month, or $500 per quarter for smaller corporations. A typical full monthly package runs around $1,000. You get a fixed fee quoted upfront, not hourly billing and no surprise invoices. Payroll can be added at $200 per cycle, and T2 corporate tax preparation runs $1,500 to $2,500 when you want it bundled in.
Yes. We work inside your QuickBooks Online or Xero file, and you stay the owner of it. You can log in any time, see your numbers from your phone, and if you ever leave, the file goes with you. Your books are never trapped inside a platform only we can open.
Email us and you hear back within one business day. Questions about your books and your reports are part of the retainer, not metered. If you need advisory time well outside the scope of your package, such as sitting in on a deal or modeling a decision, that is billed at $120 per hour, and we tell you before the clock starts.
Not usually. We work in QuickBooks Online or Xero, and if you are already on one of them, we pick up where you are. If your current file is set up wrong or the history is a mess, we move you onto a clean file first, because a monthly rhythm is only as reliable as the foundation under it.
